about image

There's no need to panic.

Being told your child has a diagnosis of autism can be a frightening experience, but there's no need to panic. Instead, consider this a positive first step in obtaining the best help. Keep in mind, a diagnosis of autism spectrum disorder (ASD) can mean many different things, since all children have their own unique ways of developing and interacting with the world. Those diagnosed with autism are no different. The maturity and level of success your child achieves depends on many factors.
Genetics, education, family, and opportunity all play key roles, just as they do for
any child.

HOW ??
A - KIDS CARE, HELP

At A-KIDS CARE, we understand that behavioural management can be a challenge for many parents. Often, behavioural issues strain the relationship between a child and their family, offsetting the positive gains of a treatment plan. Although challenges can’t be entirely avoided, we can help you to take steps to create a more positive environment

Our goal is to help you to transition through your child’s changing needs and behaviours from childhood through adulthood. A—KIDS CARE will provide the expertise to help you make the best decisions for your family at each stage of your child’s development. By addressing behavioural problems early, you may be able to prevent further issues as your child grows older. Early intervention can improve the likelihood of your child succeeding in school, participating in social interactions, and developing peer relationships. It will also make it easier for them to successfully achieve other goals as they mature.

  • An open line of communication to your child’s treatment team.
  • Initial evaluation and monthly reports to monitor your child’s progress.
  • An expectation of parent involvement as a member of the treatment team.
  • Mandatory parent workshops offered in the clinic each month.

Don’t delay

To minimize the stress on your family, we recommend that you address challenging situations as they arise. If left unchecked, your child’s intense behavioural problems can increase the stress on you as a parent. There may be times when your child’s challenging behaviour leaves you feeling isolated and reluctant to leave the house without assistance. This situation can be further compounded if your family members (or extended family) don’t understand the difficulties you face in managing and coping with your child’s behaviours.
